The Regional People’s Forum (FDR) of Southeast Sulawesi has expressed strong appreciation for PT Bumi Konawe Minerina (BKM), recognizing the company for successfully implementing Corporate Good Governance (CGG) and making real contributions to the communities surrounding its operational areas.

According to FDR Sultra Presidium member Robby Anggara, PT BKM stands out from many other mining companies by prioritizing transparency, social responsibility, and the economic empowerment of local communities. The company’s programs in supporting small businesses, workforce training, as well as its contributions to education and healthcare, are seen as concrete evidence of its commitment to building harmonious relationships with local communities.

“PT BKM has set an example that mining investment can go hand in hand with community welfare,” Robby stated to the media.

He added that PT BKM’s implementation of good governance has also helped reduce the potential for horizontal conflicts that often arise in mining areas. Through open communication and involving the community in every program, PT BKM’s presence in Konawe is believed to have had a positive impact on social stability and local economic growth.

FDR Sultra hopes that PT BKM’s approach can serve as a new standard for other companies, particularly in the natural resources sector, so that mining operations are not solely profit-oriented, but also deliver widespread benefits to both the community and the environment.
